Guidelines for Submission


Aims and Objective:

Journal Of Earthquake Science & Engineering is to fill the gap between Seismologist and Engineers being published in electronic form.
Research Topics may be Seismology, Seismotectonics, Physics of Earthquakes, Engineering Seismology, Strong Motion Seismology, Hazard Assessment, Seismic Microzonation, Earthquake Prediction, Geotechnical studies and site effects, Tsunamis.
After the damaging earthquakes field investigations reports/papers will be considered for accelerated review and publication. Short communications of new research findings that may not have been developed sufficiently to warrant full-length papers are also welcomed.

Guidelines for Submission:

Manuscripts must be submitted through our online submission system at JOES.org.in Even though you will be asked to enter your manuscript's title, authors, and abstract into the online submission system, these must also be included in the manuscript itself.

Authors General Guidelines

  • USE 12 pt, Times New Roman type.
  • Format all pages to a standard letter size (8.5 X 11 inches).
  • Use double space for all written material, including acknowledgments, references, affiliations, and figure captions.
  • Figures and tables should be presented at the end of the manuscript, clearly numbered so referees can refer to them easily. In an initial submission, figure captions may be included with the figures as well as in a separate list. Figure size should be same.
  • Under the title of the manuscript, author’s name, institute, correspondence address, and E-mail address should be provided.
  • An abstract of 200~300 words should be presented before the text.
  • Don’t use quotation marks and italics for emphasis.
  • Define all abbreviations and acronyms at first mention.
  • Use SI units.
  • Avoid subscripts or superscripts on subscripts and superscripts, and, in general, minimize unusual typographical requirements.
  • Use italic type for variables and bold for vectors and matrices. Equations should be punctuated as sentences. Mathematical symbol should be clearly typed or written and special symbol be properly identified
  • References should be arranged alphabetically by author and should follow below style.
    Authors Name, (year). Title Name, Journal Name, Vol, page.
  • Tables should be numbered consecutively with Arabic numerals. Each table must have a title; column heads should be brief and should contain units of measurement in parentheses.
  • Copyright will have to signed by author.
